Terms and conditions


BOOKING CONFIRMATION AND PAYMENT:

  • A booking is confirmed only once the signed agreement and required deposit have been received by Bester Photography.
  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking. This deposit serves as a commitment fee.
  • The remaining 50% must be settled in full no later than one week prior to the wedding/shoot date. Failure to complete payment by this deadline may result in the cancellation of services.
  • Cancellations made less than ONE week before the scheduled date will result in the full package price being due.

CHANGES TO YOUR BOOKING

  • Changes, such as date/venue changes or alterations of services, must be communicated and agreed upon by both parties. Any change remains subject to the Photographer’s availability and may result in an additional charge.

TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS

  • Any travel expenses incurred for the shoot outside of Cape Town will be discussed and agreed upon separately between the parties.
  • For weddings, accommodation for the wedding photographers for the night of the wedding must be provided and included. Failure to provide suitable accommodation may result in additional charges or adjustments to the agreed upon package price.
  • A meal for the photographers must be provided on the wedding day.

CLIENT COOPERATION, VENUE RULES AND SAFETY

  • The Client is responsible for providing an accurate timeline, ensuring the Photographer has reasonable access to the venue and required areas, and appointing a contact person to assist with the day’s arrangements. The Client is also responsible for ensuring that family members and other requested persons are available at the agreed times for photographs. The Photographer cannot be held responsible for missed photographs or reduced coverage caused by lateness, unavailable persons, venue restrictions, poor weather, lack of cooperation, or circumstances outside the Photographer’s control.
  • The Client is responsible for confirming and obtaining any venue permissions, permits, parking arrangements, or permissions required for photography. The Photographer reserves the right to stop or alter services where conditions are unsafe, abusive, illegal, or materially prevent photography from being carried out.

CREATIVE DISCRETION

  • The Client acknowledges that they have viewed the Photographer’s portfolio and understand the Photographer’s creative style. The Photographer retains full creative discretion regarding poses, locations, lighting, composition, editing, image selection, and the final number of delivered images. While every reasonable effort will be made to capture important moments, specific images or outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

EDITING, RAW FILES AND DELIVERY

  • All final images will be professionally selected and edited in the Photographer’s signature style. Unedited images and RAW files will not be supplied under any circumstances.
  • The estimated delivery timeframe for wedding galleries is six to ten weeks from the wedding date. Should unforeseen circumstances require an extension of this timeframe, the Photographer will communicate this to the Client as soon as reasonably possible. Any additional editing requests beyond the Photographer’s standard editing process may be subject to an additional fee.
  • It is the full responsibility of the Client to download and securely back up all their photos within 1 month of receiving the final gallery.

PROMOTIONAL USE

  • Bester Photography reserves the right to use some photographs taken during the wedding for promotional purposes, unless otherwise specified in writing by the Client.

CLIENT PROPERTY

  • The Photographer is not responsible for loss of or damage to the Client’s personal belongings, clothing, décor, or other property during the shoot or wedding, except where such loss or damage is directly caused by the Photographer’s negligence.

PHOTOGRAPHER CONTINGENCY PLAN

  • Bester Photography takes every reasonable precaution to ensure a smooth and reliable service, including bringing backup camera equipment to every wedding or shoot.
  • In the unlikely event of serious illness, injury, accident, extreme weather, venue restrictions, government regulations, or another circumstance beyond the Photographer’s reasonable control that prevents the Photographer from providing the agreed services, every reasonable effort will be made to arrange a suitable replacement photographer. If this is not possible, the Photographer’s liability will be limited to a refund of payments received for the affected services.
